UCR SOM Commencement & Hippocratic Oath 2022
Commencement 2022 - June 3, 2022, 6 p.m.
The UC Riverside School of Medicine Commencement and Hippocratic Oath Ceremony will be held in-person on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center.
Seating is limited and tickets are required for the ceremony. There will be no admission to the venue without a ticket.
For those unable to attend, the ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube. The stream will be available on the School of Medicine home page.
Commencement Activity Schedule

Commencement addresses by School leadership, with a keynote address by UC President Michael Drake, M.D.
Hooding and recitation of the Hippocratic Oath.

How will I receive my regalia and other items?
You will pick your regalia from the Student Affairs Office on the first floor of the SOM Education Building.
If you have questions about your regalia, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I return my regalia?
You will not need to return the regalia. It is yours to keep.
About the Commencement Ceremony
How will I be hooded? Who will hood me?
The hooding is done by Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs Emma Simmons, M.D., M.P.H..
We ask that you please review the hooding video and practice prior to the ceremony.
How will the Hippocratic Oath be administered?
You will be led in the Hippocratic Oath by Interim Senior Associate Dean Pablo Joo, M.D..
Who are the speakers?
Our keynote speaker will be Michael V. Drake, M.D., president of the University of California.
Our student speaker, as selected by the class, will be announced in the near future.
How long will the ceremony take?
The ceremony will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
How will my guests be able to watch?
You will be provided 10 tickets for your guests to attend in person. The event will also be streamed live on YouTube.
The YouTube stream will appear on our main website on the day of the ceremony.
Recording of the Ceremony
The YouTube broadcast of the ceremony will be available for future viewing.
